In 2012, at FLEXOPLATES, we installed HD Flexo technology with a high resolution of 4000 ppi in clichés. With digital engraving of clichés at a high resolution of 4000 ppi, combined with the use of microcells, flexography has gained multiple advantages.

  • Printing with greater intensity in the tiled colors due to improved ink transfer through the use of microcells.
  • Good tile and tonal printing was significantly improved and with even better de-grading and shading.
  • The supporting dots improved the issue of erasures, and enabled the use of higher resolution (lpi) with the existing printer equipment.
  • Linear elements were more clearly imprinted (such as the small negative letters or BC) given the smooth peripheral and now sharp dot of the cliché.
